Water Tourism

Oberhavel belongs to the tourism region "Ruppiner Seenland" - over 170 lakes and more than 2,000 kilometres of waterways, partly mysteriously intricate, make the "Ruppiner Seenland" a genuine paradise for lovers of nature and water.

The Water Tourism Initiative North Brandenburg (WIN)

Whether on rivers, canals or lakes, holidays on water in Germany and Europe have become more and more attractive in recent years. In 2004 the WIN was founded in cooperation of the countys and towns in order to develop water infrastructure and tourism.

Its target is to make old waterways navigable again and hence link a district of 345 kilometres in total. This will be of special benefit for the license-free charter boat tourism between Berlin and the Baltic Sea. Another objective besides the development and expansion of waterways is to develop existing and create new offers along the ways such as marinas, charter bases, bivouac grounds, hotels and restaurants.
